Houston residents affected by the recent flooding and other severe weather can find answers to legal questions during an extended LegalLine program from noon to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, the Houston Bar Association announced today.

The association invites the public to call (713) 759-1133 to speak to an attorney knowledgeable in matters such as insurance, property, landlord-tenant law, contracts, disaster assistance, and other consumer issues.

“We recognize that many people in Houston will have a need for legal advice on how to deal with the damage they experienced,” Houston Bar President Laura Gibson said. “To meet this need, members of the Houston Bar Association are hosting an extended LegalLine program to give advice to those who have been adversely affected by the flooding conditions.”

The 11,200-member nonprofit association offers LegalLine as a public service on the first and third Wednesday of each month, usually from 5 to 9 p.m., giving area residents the chance to speak to volunteer attorneys for answers to legal questions, brief legal advice, and other resources.
