In Memoriam – July 2019

The State Bar of Texas’ Membership Department was informed in July 2019 of the deaths of these members. We join the officers and directors of the State Bar in expressing our deepest sympathy.

• Lawrence A. Beauchamp Jr., 74, died March 28, 2019. He received his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1974.
• Michelle Denise Bradley, 57, of Iowa, Louisiana, died April 22, 2019. She received her law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2001.
• Robert A. Bussian, 92, of Houston, died December 1, 2018. He received his law degree from New York University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1978.
• Jerry W. Corbin, 72, of Lubbock, died July 5, 2019. He received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1974.
• John Crump, 70, of Houston, died January 15, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2002.
• Richard B. Curran, 83, of Spicewood, died July 8, 2019. He received his law degree from Yale Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1964.
• Travis Wayne Evans, 50, of Port Arthur, died June 8, 2018. He received his law degree from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1994.
• Lori Finkelston, 58, of Dallas, died July 3, 2019. She received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1985.
• Clare Mary Fisher, 42, of Plano, died January 4, 2019. She received her law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2003.
• John W. Fulbright, 95, of Waco, died June 14, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1949.
• Gwen Gist, 62, of Brenham, died August 12, 2017. She received her law degree from Baylor Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2010.
• Pete L. Gonzalez, 70, of Spring, died March 12, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1994.
• Everett J. Grindstaff, 88, of Ballinger, died July 8, 2019. He received his law degree from Baylor Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1954.
• Jim J. Hatcher, 82, of Gainesville, died June 18, 2019. He received his law degree from Baylor Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1961.
• Mark Allen Herndon, 64, of Dallas, died March 6, 2019. He received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1979.
• Jack Higson, 91, of Rockport, died June 22, 2019. He received his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1972.
• Ed Hinshaw, 81, of Borger, died January 24, 2019. He received his law degree from Baylor Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1974.
• Karla Hull, 45, of Cibolo, died June 4, 2019. She received her law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2000.
• Jim Kirk Huse, 63, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died April 25, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1985.
• Nat Mitchell Kenney III, 66, of Little Elm, died June 18, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1992.
• Tedford E. Kimbell, 78, of Dallas, died July 5, 2019. He received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1969.
• J. Christopher Kolstad, 69, of Palestine, died August 13, 2018. He received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1974.
• Jerry Matthews, 65, of Dimmitt, died June 3, 2019. He received his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1989.
• Bruce Allard Mantyla, 65, of Dallas, died January 15, 2019. He received his law degree from Valparaiso University Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1983.
• Deborah L. McGregory, 66, of Plano, died July 4, 2019. She received her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1989.
• Douglas V. McNeel, 66, of Helotes, died October 5, 2018. He received his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1978.
• Carline Mildor, 44, of Lewisville, died April 13, 2019. She received her law degree from Florida State University College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2009.
• Patricia B. Monaghen, 66, of Houston, died January 31, 2019. She received her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1981.
• James C. Oden, 72, of Addison, died January 30, 2018. He received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1973.
• Harold L. Ogden, 81, of Houston, died May 24, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1961.
• William Alfred Orr Jr., 93, of Sweeny, died May 5, 2019. He received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1956.
• Anne Osburn, 66, of Oakland, California, died June 17, 2019. She received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1978.
• Nina Jasmin Petrow, 41, of Helotes, died October 7, 2018. She received her law degree from Chapman University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2005.
• Laura S. Pocock, 61, of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, died September 15, 2018. She received her law degree from William & Mary Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1983.
• Hobert Price Jr., 87, of Dallas, died June 11, 2019. He received his law degree from Stanford Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1956.
• Michael W. Ramsey, 79, of Channelview, died July 27, 2019. He received his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1965.
• William D. Ratliff III, 69, of Fort Worth, died July 7, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1974.
• Rick Richey, 71, of Lampasas, died June 20, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1988.
• Marilyn Robertson, 54, of Dallas, died November 3, 2018. She received her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2011.
• Robert Patrick Rodriguez, 48, of Brownsville, died June 30, 2019. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1997.
• Doyle Nolan Rogers, 82, of Monte Carlo, Monaco, died July 9, 2019. He received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1976.
• S. Reese Rozzell, 75, of Rockport, died June 23, 2019. He received his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1970.
• Susan Sharlot, 80, of Houston, died May 23, 2019. She received her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1984.
• Andrew Shebay III, 73, of Houston, died February 11, 2019. He received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1970.
• Terrell E. Shell, 75, of Stephenville, died June 27, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1969.
• Thomas Alan Shiels, 62, of Scroggins, died June 30, 2019. He received his law degree from Notre Dame Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1981.
• Sarah Singleton, 70, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, died July 4, 2019. She received her law degree from Indiana University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1974.
• John Michael Slogar, 62, of Houston, died March 14, 2018. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1980.
• Melton V. Smith, 90, of Houston, died April 23, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1961.
• Richard James Smith, 74, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, died November 8, 2018. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1969.
• Samuel Vaughan Stone Jr., 85, of Austin, died April 26, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1961.
• John J. Talton, 62, of Whitehouse, died October 17, 2018. He received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1979.
• Donald H. Taylor, 72, of Houston, died March 8, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1980.
• Gregory Lee Underwood, 80, of Nocona, died July 24, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1964.
• Ronald Voyles II, 50, of Conroe, died March 25, 2019. He received his law degree from South Texas College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2006.
• Richard E. Ward, 70, of Belton, died July 6, 2019. He received his law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1978.
• Boyd K. Watson III, 74, of Lake Jackson, died March 5, 2018. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1968.
• Jean L. White, 94, of Dallas, died July 10, 2019. She received her law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1946.
• Louis A. Wilmot, 70, of San Antonio, died June 1, 2019. He received his law degree from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1973.
• James W. Wilson, 91, of Austin, died July 23, 2019. He received his law degree from Tulane Law School and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1951.
• Louis Zimmerman, 69, of Houston, died July 9, 2018. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1974.
