Waldwick NJ Armed Robbery ChargesA Waldwick NJ man is going to federal prison after he pleaded guilty to a host of criminal charges related to an armed robbery in Passaic County, New Jersey.

The suspect, a 21-year-old male from Waldwick, NJ, was allegedly one of several men who committed an armed robbery at the PD Benders Tavern in Hawthorne on December 25.

After the men got approximately $200 in cash from the tavern, they reportedly ran out of the building and fled the scene.

According to law enforcement, the robbers later kidnapped a cab driver in Paterson New Jersey and used a beer bottle to assault him. The men also allegedly used a knife to cut the taxi driver’s throat.

Police detectives investigated the crimes and eventually captured the suspect. He was then charged with numerous crimes, including robbery, carjacking, and kidnapping.

Now the suspect is likely headed to a federal penitentiary after reaching a plea deal with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The other suspects in the robbery and carjacking case include a 21-year-old Ridgewood NJ man, a 19-year-old Suffern New York man, and a 20-year-old Suffern NY man.
