Thanks in part to the rallying cry made by Patricia Arquette in her Oscar acceptance speech, pay equity is now the law in California.  On October 6, 2015, California Governor Jerry Brown signed the California Fair Pay Act (FPA) (SB 358) into law in an attempt to close the wage gap between men and women in the state.  As we have blogged about previously, the FPA will impose new obligations on California employers, not just to preach pay equity, but actually to ensure it (or face the consequences).

To learn about what you need to do as a California employer to plan for the implementation of the FPA, please read this Alert.  Special thanks to Sahara Pynes for her contributions and insight.
