28-Year-Old Male Suffers Head Injuries in Car-Scooter Wreck

A 28-year-old Virginia man was treated for head injuries he suffered after being struck by a Rav4 driven by a 63-year-old woman while riding his scooter. This incident occurred when the driver of the Rav4 was crossing the intersection and collided with the 28-year-old man on his scooter. The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but it was not fastened securely and came off in the impact of the accident. The extent of the man’s injuries is unknown and police could possibly charge the 63-year-old driver in connection with the wreck though no charges have been filed yet.

A scooter is very similar to a motorcycle in that there is very limited protection for riders while driving through the streets. Injuries in connection with scooter-automobile accidents vary depending on the severity of the impact and the speed at which both vehicles are traveling. In some cases, even when a person is wearing a helmet when an accident occurs, the injuries they could suffer could still be extremely serious. If the impact between the scooter and the vehicle is strong enough, the rider of the scooter could be thrown from the vehicle and the impact against the ground could cause significant head trauma and life-threatening injuries. Injuries suffered in this sort of accident could also prove to be fatal as well. Victims of motorcycle and scooter accidents are the ones at higher risk of serious injury or fatality because of the lack of protection in both types of vehicles.

In this incident, an investigation would need to be completed to determine if the 63-year-old woman was at fault for the accident or if the 28-year-old scooter driver was at fault. Since the accident occurred at an intersection – which is often a very dangerous type of road for many drivers – an investigation would have to be completed to determine if one or both vehicles were driving at high speeds. If the Rav4 is found to have been driving at a high rate of speed, the woman could be held accountable for the accident and charged by police. However, if the scooter is found to have been driving at high speeds, there is a chance that no charges will be filed in connection with the crash.

Regardless of the results of this incident, nobody should ever suffer injuries in an automobile accident that could potentially be prevented. Anybody who suffers injuries in a scooter-car wreck should contact an attorney who can help them determine if legal action is possible and they can also help in determining the amount of compensation you can obtain from the perpetrators for your injuries and damages.
Chicago Man Has Nose Bitten off by Pit Bull Dog

A 47-year-old man now faces 6 facial reconstruction surgeries to repair damage done following a pit bull dog attack. The man had his nose bitten off and doctors were unable to reattach the man’s nose after the attack. The attack happened when the 47-year-old man was helping a neighbor move some stereo equipment when the dog lunged at him. The man said he has owned pit bulls for 20 years and has never had any problems. He had been playing with the dog that attacked him just minutes before the attack had happened.

The six surgeries the man faces could amount up to $200,000 and the man is without health insurance after acquiring a new towing company. The man said it’s not the dog’s fault for the attack mainly because of how the dogs are raised.

This incident demonstrates the severity that some dog attacks can have in terms of the injuries that victims suffer as a result. This man now faces six facial reconstruction surgeries which can often be difficult to go through. The recovery time for the surgeries could be extensive and the financial burden the man now faces is also immense. These are the kinds of results that can often occur with any dog attack. Some attacks may not be as serious as others but this shows the most severe injuries that can occur.

The man in this incident is right about the way some dogs are raised having an effect on their aggressive behavior but it should still not excuse an attack when it does occur. Dog trainers are available to help find ways to train and control your pets so attacks like this one never happen. Just because a dog acts on instinct in order to protect itself or its owners or its young does not excuse an attack from a trained dog. In any situation involving a dog attack, the owner of the dog should be held accountable for the dog’s actions and an attorney can help victims of dog bite cases to determine whether legal action should be taken and they can help determine how much in compensation you are entitled to in the event of a dog bite.
Man Charged after 3-Car Wreck injures One Person

A 29-year-old man has been charged with vehicular assault after he turned himself in to police following a three-car wreck. The accident happened after the man attempted to change lanes in an unsafe manner and struck another vehicle. That vehicle then struck a third vehicle and was transported to a medical facility suffering serious injuries. The 29-year-old man was arrested and later released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bail. Authorities said he turned himself in after discovering police had issued an arrest warrant for him. He is scheduled to appear in court regarding this incident. There is no word on the condition of the driver in the third vehicle involved in this wreck.

This incident, like many similar ones, could easily have been avoided if the driver had ensured there were no vehicles approaching before switching lanes. It is always vital to check both rear view mirrors before making a lane change to ensure you have enough space behind you to transfer to the next lane. You should also always look in front of you as well because it is always possible to end up in a rear-end collision in this circumstance as well. This is especially true if you are driving at a high rate of speed. If that is the case, it is possible for your vehicle to spin out of control causing significantly worse damage and potentially more serious injuries in the process. The injuries associated with this accident could have also been much worse considering there were multiple vehicles involved. The drivers in the second and third vehicles in the wreck could have suffered serious, life-threatening injuries in the accident which would have increased the charges that the 29-year-old man faced.

In many situations there are always ways to steer clear of potential danger. You should always be on the lookout for anybody driving erratically or dangerously. High-speed driving and road rage are very dangerous actions and you should always be aware if you see somebody operating their vehicle in this manner. Nobody should ever be injured in an automobile accident that can be avoided. If you are seriously injured in this type of accident, an attorney can help you bring the perpetrator to justice and get compensation for your injuries and damages.
Arizona Woman Killed While Trying to Catch Bus in Mesa

A 56-year-old Mesa, AZ woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle while trying to catch a bus. The incident occurred when the woman was struck by an oncoming Ford Focus while she was crossing the street. Authorities said the woman was in a hurry to catch the bus and failed to yield to vehicles at a traffic light. The victim was launched into the air upon impact and collided with a light pole. Rescue workers tried to revive her using CPR but were unable to do so.

The woman was later pronounced dead at a medical facility. Police do not believe speed or any impairment contributed to the wreck. However, police said the fact that the woman ran into the street without yielding to oncoming traffic was a major factor in addition to the driver’s vision being obscured by the sun.

This incident demonstrates why it is important that you do not run into the middle of the street for any reason. Children are always taught this important lesson at a very young age and this incident demonstrates exactly why. You should always make sure there are no oncoming vehicles and make sure the traffic signal allows for pedestrians to cross the street. If you see the traffic signal is still red for pedestrians to cross, you should never make an attempt to cross even if the intersection appears empty. You can never be sure when another vehicle is approaching at a high rate of speed and will collide with you. The pedestrian in this accident may still be alive if she had waited instead of running into the street. Although she may have been late catching the bus, it would have been better because she would not have lost her life in this accident.

If you or a loved one are injured in a bus-pedestrian accident like this incident, you should find out if hiring an attorney is the right option for you. An attorney can help you determine whether or not legal action is possible and the type of compensation you can get in the event of a lawsuit. These accidents can always be avoided and you can bring the perpetrator to justice if you are hurt in an accident like this.
Man Sues Father for His Own Son's Injuries in Dog Bite Case

After a two-year-old boy was bitten by a dog owned by his grandfather in 2006, the boy’s father has brought a lawsuit against the grandfather in connection with the attack. The attack occurred when the 2-year-old boy reached his hands in the air trying to get his grandfather’s attention. As the boy put his arms down, he touched the Labrador that was nearby and it lunged at and bit the boy in the face four times.

The boy was transported to a medical facility where he faced a four-hour surgical procedure to repair the damage to his face. Now several years after the attack, the boy’s father was awarded R150,000 (equivalent to roughly $2,900 US) after he filed a lawsuit against the grandfather.

This incident demonstrates how victims of dog attacks have the right to file a lawsuit against the dog owner regardless of relation to the owner and in many cases a lawsuit is warranted. In this instance, the victim at the time was a two-year-old boy who suffered serious wounds to his face. In addition, the potential damage that occurred in terms of the psychological trauma could have also been extensive as well. The victim and his family should be entitled to compensation for the attack because the dog owner should have taken better care to prevent the attack.

The fact that the boy had to face a four-hour surgical procedure to repair the damage is also a factor that should be taken into account. The mental and emotional damage that is connected with this type of incident is almost always long-lasting and cannot be taken away. The boy is very lucky to have not suffered more serious injuries as a result of this attack.

If you or a loved one suffers serious injuries requiring surgical procedures as a result of a dog attack, you should be entitled to compensation for your injuries and the medical bills associated with the procedures. You can contact an attorney who will help you determine the right legal action to take against the dog owner and an attorney can also help you find out how much compensation you are entitled to for your pain and suffering
Motorcyclist Collides with 100-Year-Old Driver, Suffers Serious Injuries

In Florida, a 22-year-old man riding a motorcycle suffered critical injuries after colliding with a vehicle driven by a 100-year-old man. The accident happened when the elderly driver was attempting to make a left turn along a roadway when the southbound Suzuki motorcycle collided with the man’s Buick. The motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was ejected from the bike.

The 100-year-old driver suffered minor injuries in the wreck but was otherwise fine. The 22-year-old motorcyclist was transported to a medical facility for treatment of his injuries. There is no word on the specific injuries he suffered in the crash.

Operating a motorcycle can sometimes be more dangerous than operating a normal vehicle, as this incident demonstrates. Many motorcycle riders choose not to wear a helmet when they ride but this almost always puts them in extremely serious danger of suffering head trauma and potentially fatal head injuries. The 22-year-old man could have lost his life in this accident because of the severity of the impact. If the man had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the injuries he suffered could have been much less serious. Although wearing a helmet does not completely erase the danger of riding a motorcycle, it could go a long way in saving a person’s life if they are involved in a wreck.

This incident also demonstrates that there are drivers of all ages on the roadway and any driver can make a mistake causing an automobile accident. Either one or both of the parties involved in this wreck could have been at fault for the accident occurring for various reasons. The fact that the motorcycle rider was ejected from the bike could indicate that he was driving at a high rate of speed at the time of the wreck. The elderly driver in this accident could have also been at fault for the accident as well. Regardless who caused the accident, this incident demonstrates the dangers involved in operating a motorcycle especially without a helmet. If you’re going to ride a motorcycle, you should always take every precaution to reduce the risk of serious injuries in the event of an automobile wreck. If you are injured in a motorcycle accident, you can contact an attorney who can help you determine the right legal action to take against the parties responsible.
Four Students Injured in Head-On Collision Involving School Bus

At least four high school students in Massachusetts suffered varying degrees of injuries as the BMW they were riding in collided with a school bus. The two vehicles collided head-on and two of the students suffered life-threatening injuries. The female driver of the BMW was conscious following the wreck. She and the three other teens in the vehicle were all transported to a medical facility for treatment of unknown injuries.

It is a terrible tragedy when an accident occurs that involves students of any age. An investigation could determine whether or not this accident could have been avoided. The accident could have been much worse if the bus driver had been transporting students at the time. The number and severity of injuries in this wreck could have been much higher. Still, the injury toll was very serious as two of the teenagers in the BMW suffered life-threatening injuries. There was no information whether or not those two teens were wearing seatbelts at the time of the wreck. Wearing a seatbelt can dramatically reduce the chance of being seriously injured in an automobile accident but it does not take away the chance completely. Wearing seatbelts in a car and wearing a helmet in a motorcycle or scooter does save lives but there is always a chance of suffering very serious injuries depending upon the impact between the vehicles involved in the wreck.

In this instance the size of the bus in comparison to the BMW coupe should be taken into account as well. The bus is much bigger in comparison to the BMW vehicle which could have also been a factor contributing to the injuries the teens suffered in the wreck. If an investigation shows that the bus driver was at fault, they could be held accountable for the accident causing serious injury to the teens. Victims in an accident like this one should contact an attorney who can help them determine the right kind of legal action to take against the person responsible and they can determine the potential compensation you could gain if a lawsuit is pursued.
Woman Involved in Single-Car Wreck Struck While Reporting Crash

In Georgia, a woman from Florida was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer while she was standing in the roadway. The woman had just been involved in a single-car wreck herself and was on the phone with a 911 dispatcher when the tractor trailer struck her. Georgia State Patrol said the woman was originally involved in the single-car wreck struck a guardrail and bounced back into the lane near an exit to the interstate. Police said the 911 dispatcher heard the impact of the vehicle striking the woman. It is unknown what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle in the first place. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured and did not face any charges in connection with the crash.

Police said the initial collision the woman was involved in caused damage to the lights of her vehicle, causing them to not work anymore. This could potentially explain what caused the secondary impact involving the tractor-trailer. It is possible the tractor-trailer driver did not see the woman or her car even if he had his headlights on. Since the impact occurred in the late night hours, it could have obscured the driver’s vision and ultimately led to the wreck. That could have been the reason why police did not charge the man in connection with the wreck.

If the man had fled the scene of the accident or was driving at a high rate of speed or under the influence of alcohol or some other substance, police would have charged him appropriately and he could have faced potential jail time in connection with the wreck. This also applies to anybody else involved in this type of wreck if they are found to have caused the wreck in some way or if they leave the scene of the accident. The families of the victims in this kind of accident have the right to obtain legal counsel to help them get justice against the perpetrators of the accident. Nobody should ever be victimized in this way and not get justice for their injuries and damages if they were not at fault for the accident.
4-Vehicle Crash Involving Truck and Motorcycles Kills 5

At least five people were killed in an automobile accident involving a large commercial truck and three motorcycles. The incident occurred when the truck’s brakes failed to engage causing the truck to collide with the three motorcycles. The occupants of the three motorcycles were crushed to death and two other people seriously injured succumbed to those injuries. The driver of the truck was uninjured in the wreck. The accident occurred at a 3-way intersection as the truck driver ran through the intersection at a high rate of speed. Police took the driver into custody and he is being held responsible for the wreck.

People do not always take into account how dangerous intersections can be. Whether they are 3-way or 4-way intersections, an automobile accident can easily occur for several reasons. In some instances, a vehicle could be crossing in one direction and another vehicle could collide with it in a side-impact collision. In a similar situation, a driver could be making a turn from one direction to another and could wind up in a side-impact collision if the other driver is unable to stop. In some cases in a 3-way intersection, drivers and pedestrians alike could potentially be injured especially if the intersection is in front of a residential area.

It is very unfortunate that the three motorcycle occupants were killed as a result of this incident. The difference in weight and overall size is most likely what played a major factor in this automobile accident and the resulting fatalities. If the driver of the truck was speeding, that is yet another factor that would contribute to the severity of the accident. If an investigation were to uncover these factors, the driver could be held liable for the accident and the resulting fatalities that occurred. If you have been injured in this type of accident or if you have lost a loved one as a result of an accident like this one, you can contact an attorney and find out whether or not you can take legal action against the driver responsible. If legal action is the right decision, you can find out what kind of compensation you can get for your injuries and damages involved.
18-Year-Old Driver Collides with Dumpster, Kills Elderly Pedestrian

An 18-year-old Florida man was involved in an automobile accident that killed a 68-year-old pedestrian. The incident occurred when the 18-year-old driver swerved to avoid striking a Winn-Dixie employee, sideswiped another vehicle and collided with a dumpster. The dumpster subsequently struck a 68-year-old man who police say was standing next to the dumpster. The man was thrown into the air as a result of the impact and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The Winn-Dixie employee suffered minor injuries in the wreck and was transported to a medical facility for treatment. There have been no charges filed in connection with the accident and authorities took the driver into custody for questioning. It is unknown whether or not speed played a role in this accident.

This incident shows how easily an automobile accident can occur and how quickly it can turn deadly if there are other drivers, passengers, or pedestrians involved. It also demonstrates how vehicles are not the only things you need to be watchful for whether you are walking along the sidewalk or driving along the roadway. It just takes a split second for a driver to miss an obstacle or obstruction in front of them resulting in a serious automobile accident with injuries. There are many accidents that occur as a result of external forces that the driver involved cannot control. Things like people crossing the street or stepping out in front of them as they drive through a parking lot or driveway are not controllable circumstances for the driver. As a result, these types of accidents may not always been preventable.

Since the driver could not control the situation entirely, there may not be any charges filed against him in connection with this wreck. However, there are many accidents that occur that are completely avoidable and present circumstances that the driver is fully aware of and can control. In those accidents, the drivers involved should be held responsible and the victims of such accidents deserve some form of compensation for their injuries or damages. If you are a victim of this type of accident, you can contact an attorney who will help you get compensation.
Car-Pedestrian Accident Leads to Charges against Driver

A 30-year-old man is facing charges of leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident, failure to yield to the right of way of a pedestrian, failure to use due care, and other charges after being involved in a pedestrian-car accident in Jamestown, New York. The victim in the incident refused medical attention and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Later, police found the driver had been intoxicated at the time of the accident and he had a revoked license as well.

The victim suffered only minor injuries in the accident. Among the charges filed against the driver were also felony DWI and first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. There is no word on what, if any punishments the driver could face as a result of the charges against him.

The pedestrian involved in this accident could have easily been seriously injured, especially if the driver of the vehicle was operating it at a high rate of speed. The impact would have been more severe which could have caused worse injuries or even a fatality for the pedestrian. Still, the charges that the driver faces are significant, mainly because of the fact that he was inebriated at the time of the wreck and was driving with a revoked license. This could be an indication that the driver has had previous legal troubles with regard to traffic laws. If the family of the pedestrian had decided to sue the driver or his family, this could have been used against the driver in the trial possibly increasing the potential penalty associated with the charges.

Regardless of the potential outcome, in this incident the driver should be held responsible for the accident because he chose to operate a vehicle while intoxicated and also chose to operate a vehicle with a revoked license which is a serious crime in itself. If the pedestrian in this accident had been killed, the charges would have easily been more severe for the driver involved.

Driving while intoxicated and with a revoked license is a very serious offense and anybody who chooses to do so should face the legal consequences of their actions. If you or a loved one have been injured as a result of this type of accident, you deserve compensation and legal representation to protect and emphasize your rights against the perpetrator. If you contact an attorney, they can help you determine the right legal action to take against the perpetrator.
Dump Truck Collides with Other Vehicle, Rolls Over

In Portland, Oregon a multi-car accident resulted in injuries for the driver of one of the vehicles and the driver of a dump truck also involved in the wreck. The incident occurred in the late afternoon hours when a Chevy Tahoe was waiting for a dump truck to cross before making a left turn into a driveway. However, another vehicle was attempting to pass the SUV and clipped the bumper causing the driver to lose control and collide with the oncoming dump truck. The vehicle was struck on the driver’s side injuring a female driver.

The dump truck rolled over into a ditch and the vehicle that was struck came to a stop in the middle of the road. The female driver was removed from the vehicle and transported to a medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries and the person driving the SUV was uninjured.

When a vehicle in front of you is attempting to make a turn to cross through an oncoming traffic lane and into a parking lot, driveway, or through an intersection, one of the worst mistakes a person can do is to try and pass the turning vehicle because there is no way to know if there is an oncoming vehicle ahead. In this case, if the driver of the dump truck had been driving at a faster rate of speed than he was, it is very likely that he could have collided head-on with the vehicle attempting to pass the SUV. Road rage and general impatience on the road way are two causes of automobile accidents ranging from minor fender benders to more significant collisions resulting in injuries. The driver of the passing vehicle was very lucky to have escaped from the collision with non-life-threatening injuries in this wreck that could have resulted from the weight of the dump truck in comparison to the other vehicle.

A person’s life should never be threatened because of a driver’s negligence in trying to pass another vehicle while there is oncoming traffic. Negligence like this can cause serious accidents or fatality and the driver could be held responsible for the wreck due to negligence. If you or a loved one have been injured as a result of this type of serious accident resulting from another person’s negligence, an attorney can assist you in determining the right course of action to take against those responsible.
10 People Including Unborn Child Killed in Car Wrecks Over 24 Hrs

In southern Florida, at least 10 people were killed including an unborn baby in a matter of 24 hours all involved in some sort of automobile accident. One of those incidents was a head-on collision that killed four people in the vehicle. In separate accidents, multiple people were killed including a 5-year-old girl who was a pedestrian riding a toy car. An elderly person and a 14-year-old were also killed in separate accidents.

One of the accidents caused the vehicle involved to catch fire killing the driver and three occupants in the other vehicle involved. Police investigations continue in connection with many of the wrecks that occurred. One such investigation was connected to a hit-and-run accident in which a driver struck two people; one whose vehicle had blown a tire and the other who had stopped to help. Police are asking for assistance from the public for some of the accidents that occurred because there have been no leads.

This story demonstrates that an automobile accident is always possible in any situation and you can never be sure what another driver is going to do in front or behind you. You should always drive very carefully and be on the lookout for anybody making sudden moves in order to avoid colliding with them. You should also be on the lookout for pedestrians on the roadways because there is always the chance that a person can step out in front of you and you may not have time to stop in order to prevent hitting them.

The most unfortunate detail about many of the accidents that occurred in this 24-hour period is the fact that some of them involved young children or infants. Another incident killed an unborn baby. Children are the ones that are highly likely to be struck and killed in car-pedestrian accidents and automobile accidents alike. This incident demonstrates that you should always be careful on the road and if you are involved in some sort of auto wreck, you should stop to render aid to anybody that is injured. Anybody that causes an automobile accident as a result of negligence or some other action should be held accountable and an attorney can help the victims of those accidents get compensation for injuries or damages.
20-Year-Old Woman Believed to be Texting before Wreck

Following an automobile accident in Lancaster, PA, a 20-year-old woman has died and police believe she had been texting just before the accident occurred. The accident happened when the woman was driving at a high rate of speed and was unable to negotiate a curve in the roadway. She lost control over vehicle as a result and collided with oncoming traffic. A 66-year-old woman was also injured in the wreck but she was treated at a medical facility. The 20-year-old woman died at the scene of the accident. The county has had a ban on texting while driving recently instated according to police.

According to police, driving while texting is the equivalent of driving with your eyes closed for a few short seconds. However, what people fail to realize is that even if it is only for a few short seconds, it only takes that much time for a serious accident to happen that could cause drivers and others alike life-altering injuries. In this incident, the accident that happened took the life of the 20-year-old woman. These are the kinds of results that people can expect in any type of distracted driving case. The laws against driving while texting or using a cell phone are set in place in various cities as a way to protect drivers from getting seriously injured in a wreck. If the woman in this incident had been obeying the newly adapted law in the city of Lancaster, this accident would have been avoided altogether.

It only takes a split second for a person to be involved in a serious or fatal accident and even the slightest distraction can quickly cause that to occur. In addition to drivers being seriously injured or killed, others on the roadway or along the sidewalks can also be injured or killed. When high speed becomes a factor as in this incident, the chances of being injured or killed in a wreck increase dramatically because speed drastically alters a person’s ability to avoid obstacles or negotiate turns properly. In this incident, since the woman was driving at a high rate of speed, it reduced her chance of making the turn through the curve because of the weight of the vehicle and the loss of traction as a result of the speed.

If another person had been injured in this wreck instead of the 20-year-old woman, there is a chance she could have been held accountable for the wreck causing injury or death. Anybody who is seriously injured in an accident involving a distracted driver should find legal council to bring legal action against the perpetrator involved.
32-Year-Old Man Charged with DWI Following Wreck

After a 32-year-old was involved in an automobile accident driving his car into a ditch, police arrested him and charged him with driving while intoxicated. The incident originally occurred when the driver lost control of his vehicle and crossed into an oncoming lane of traffic and into a ditch. The vehicle rolled over upside down but the driver was uninjured in the wreck. Police later discovered he had a blood alcohol level just over the legal limit of .08. He was arrested and is now scheduled to appear in court sometime in the future. Aside from the DWI charge he was also charged with operating a vehicle at a speed not reasonable or prudent.

In this incident although nobody was injured in the wreck, the chance that someone could have been injured or killed was increased because of the man’s alcohol consumption. The fact that he crossed into oncoming traffic could have been a major factor in causing a more serious accident. If another vehicle had been coming at the time, he would have collided with them head-on and all parties involved could have been seriously injured. This is one of the biggest risks people take when they decide to get behind the wheel of a car after consumption of alcohol. Although there is a legal limit set in place that would prevent a person from getting into legal trouble, any amount of alcohol could reduce a person’s judgment and reaction time causing a car accident.

In most accidents when a vehicle rolls over, the driver and any passengers inside often suffer extremely serious injuries, especially if they are not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The 32-year-old man in this incident is very lucky to have been able to walk away from this accident uninjured. People should never be placed in this kind of danger for any reason if it can be avoided. Drunken driving accidents are always avoidable if the person that consumes alcohol decides to find some other form of transportation rather than getting behind the wheel of their vehicle. In any unnecessary, avoidable accident, the victims should contact an attorney to help them get justice for their pain and damages.
Man Arrested for Child Endangerment Following Dog Bite Case

A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with child endangerment in connection with a dog bite incident against his 3-year-old daughter. The 3-year-old girl was bitten by a pit bull dog belonging to the 26-year-old’s brother and received 150 stitches to close the wound in her face. Police said the man and his brother originally gave misleading information to them including the fact that the girl was bitten by a stray dog and they gave a vague description of the dog.

Later police found the real dog in question and took it into custody. A previous report had been made two months before against the same 3-year-old girl. The dog was euthanized and the 26-year-old man was placed under arrest. A felony warrant had been issued against him on drug related charges.

Hiding the fact that a relative was attacked and bitten by a dog is almost the same as simply allowing the attack to occur at all. Everybody’s instinct in any situation involving an attack is to protect their loved ones from the attacker. However, hiding information from police that could help in capturing the dog responsible; even a family dog, is only opening the door for another potential attack. There is always hope that a dog will not attack a second or even a third time but the chance is always there and a dog attack should never be taken lightly. A dog will always attack if it senses a threat or feels agitated for any reason.

Hiding information from the police regarding a dog attack places not only the owners in serious danger but people who are nearby as well. An innocent person could be walking past the home where the dog is located and could be attacked without any sort of warning. For that reason, it is extremely important to provide all the correct information regarding a dog attack so that they can put a stop to it and help protect others in the area. Anybody who gives false information regarding any crime or incident should be held accountable for their actions especially when there is a chance it could happen again. Any victims of dog attacks such as this one can talk to an attorney to make sure those responsible are punished by law.
Man Involved in Head-on Charged with DWI, 2nd Degree Murder

A North Carolina man involved in a fatal drunken driving accident was arrested and charged with DWI and 2nd degree murder after his pickup truck crossed the center line on a highway and collided head-on with another vehicle, killing the passenger in the second vehicle. The driver, a 54-year-old man, in the second vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a medical facility for treatment. The man responsible for the wreck made a court appearance in connection with the wreck and is currently held in jail on a $350,000 bond.

Driving on a highway can be dangerous under normal circumstances because even though most drivers are operating their vehicles at or below the posted speed limit, those vehicles are still driving at high speeds.. One wrong move and it could cause a serious accident possibly involving multiple vehicles. The fact that the man in this incident was driving on the highway while intoxicated greatly increases the danger for all parties involved as this incident demonstrates. An automobile accident can quickly turn tragic when speed and alcohol are all involved. When driving on the highway, it is extremely important for a person to be completely alert because there are drivers passing on all sides and you can never be sure what a driver will do on the highway. Consuming alcohol greatly reduces a person’s alertness and this incident demonstrates one of the many consequences of that person’s actions.

The driver in this wreck should be held responsible for his actions and any other drivers operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol should be held responsible for their actions especially if they result in the death of another person. Driving on the highway is dangerous enough; there does not need to be more danger added on because a person chooses to operate their vehicle after consuming alcohol. It is unnecessary and anybody who chooses to do so should be held accountable and brought to justice. Victims of automobile accidents resulting from drunk driving should contact an attorney that can help them determine the right legal actions to take against the perpetrators. You can get compensation for your pain and suffering if you choose to file a lawsuit against the people responsible.
Teen and 21-Year-Old Injured in Automobile Accident

A single-vehicle accident in California involving an overturned Honda Accord injured two people including a 19-year-old who suffered head trauma and internal injuries. A 21-year-old woman was also in the wreck and suffered cuts to her face and neck pain. The incident occurred when the 26-year-old driver in the vehicle was tailgating and flashing its lights at a vehicle ahead of him. When the vehicle in front pulled over to allow the driver to pass, the driver sped off and collided into a ravine.

A baby in the vehicle at the time of the wreck suffered no injuries as a result. There is no word if there will be any charges filed in connection with the wreck.

Tailgating is considered to be a serious form of road rage and it is a senseless act that nobody should ever commit. This incident demonstrates one of many situations that could result when a person tailgates another vehicle in front of them. Another situation that could occur is if the driver in front suddenly comes to a stop, forcing the tailgating vehicle to put on their brakes. Unfortunately in those situations the tailgating driver does not have enough time to react because they are driving so close to the vehicle in front. A rear-impact collision could occur and cause serious injuries for all parties involved. Rear-impact collisions are especially dangerous for the vehicle occupants who get struck from behind because of the possibility of whiplash and other serious neck injuries.

The fact that a 19-year-old suffered severe head trauma in connection with this wreck shows how serious this and many other automobile accidents can really be. Tailgating is a very serious action and one that could easily cost the lives of the victim and the perpetrator alike. If you or a loved one are injured in an automobile accident caused by a tailgating driver, you may be able to get assistance from an attorney who can help you determine whether legal action is necessary and the kind of compensation you are entitled to as a result of the wreck. Tailgating should never be a factor in any automobile accident; it is a senseless action and perpetrators should be punished if they cause an auto accident as a result.

Two Women Injured in Serious Car-Motorcycle Wreck

A 59-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman were both treated at a medical facility for injuries they suffered as a result of a car-motorcycle accident. The incident occurred when the 59-year-old woman was driving her vehicle on an eastbound lane of the highway and attempted to make a turn off the highway at an intersection when the 27-year-old motorcycle rider collided with the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for failing to yield at a left turn. The injured motorcycle rider was transported to one medical facility then transferred to a second facility later for treatment of her injuries. There is no word on the specifics of her injuries or the injuries that the 59-year-old woman suffered.

Many intersections are controlled by yield signs and drivers crossing them are supposed to obey those signs and give the right of way to oncoming vehicles whenever possible. This is one of many accidents that may have been avoided if the vehicle driver had yielded to the motorcycle rider to allow her to cross the intersection safely. At times in an intersection there is a bit of confusion as to who has the right of way but in that situation it is always best to stop and make sure no other vehicle is approaching before crossing the intersection yourself. It is better to wait for other vehicles to prevent this type of accident from occurring.

There is no information on the specific injuries the motorcycle rider suffered in this wreck but it is possible the injuries were extensive because of the lack of protection that motorcycles offer for riders. Unlike a car, there is no protection enclosing the rider as in a standard vehicle. As a result, a wreck could always cause the motorcycle rider to fall off of the motorcycle causing extensive injuries. Not wearing a helmet at the time of an accident could also be a contributing factor to the severity of any injuries a person suffers. Anything from severe head trauma to neck injuries could occur in this type of accident.

At an intersection it is vital for all drivers to slow down and yield to other drivers crossing the intersection to avoid this type of accident. Many of these accidents involving drivers not yielding to others could easily be avoided with more caution from all parties involved. If you or a loved one are involved in this kind of accident and you suffer serious injuries as a result, you could consult with an attorney to determine if legal action is possible and you could get compensation for injuries and damages.
Motorcycle Accident Causes Fatality, Results from Intoxication

A motorcycle accident that killed a 31-year-old man in Tucson, Arizona may have been caused because of driving while intoxicated. The incident occurred when the 31-year-old man was driving his motorcycle and collided with a Cadillac at an intersection. Police discovered that the motorcycle rider was riding in a westbound direction when the driver of the Cadillac Seville made a U-turn into the same lane as the motorcycle rider. The motorcycle rider overtook the Cadillac attempting to pass it and clipped the rear of the vehicle.

The motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Police believe alcohol may have played a role in the accident. The driver of the Cadillac was not facing any charges in connection with the wreck.

This incident demonstrates how easily one wrong move can cause serious consequences including serious injury or fatality. When the Cadillac driver made a U-turn into the lane that the motorcycle rider was driving in, there is no way he could have known the motorcycle rider was coming at him head-on. Since the motorcycle rider was inebriated, he may have been unable to stop in time from colliding with the Cadillac because his reaction time and judgment could have been impaired. Police said the motorcycle rider was riding at a high rate of speed, which is another factor that could have contributed to this accident because neither the motorcycle rider nor the Cadillac driver were able to stop in time or swerve out of the way in time to prevent from hitting one another.

There are certain factors that, if they had been reversed, the family of the motorcycle rider may have been able to file a lawsuit against the Cadillac driver for negligence or other causes. If the driver of the Cadillac had been drinking before the accident had occurred and killed the motorcycle rider, the driver of the Cadillac would have been arrested and charged. However, in this incident the Cadillac driver was not at fault for the car wreck, which resulted in no charges being filed against him. In another instance, if the driver of the Cadillac had been killed and the driver of the motorcycle had survived the wreck, the motorcycle rider could have been held accountable for causing the death of the Cadillac driver.
